2012

We all know what 2012 is significant for: the ending of the Mayan calendar and therefore, the ending of the world. WRONG. First of all, one Mayan calendar ends on December 21st, 2012. Only one. And that one hasn't been in use for a long time. The Mayans follow a different calendar that extends in to infinity. We're not going to die. Who cares when a calendar ends? That means a new year usually. I wanted to bring the scientific theories into this rant, not the bullshit religious myth legend theories. Scientifically, our Earth is always in these long cycles. One possible correct statement is some people say "the world AS WE KNOW it will end in 2012". By that, they obviously mean something physical will happen to the Earth as it follows it's cycle to keep itself habitable for us. In case any body hasn't noticed, "for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction", for Global Warming, there is also Global Cooling. I also want to point out that it's the middle of April at this time of writing and it's quite cold outside for April. Our Earth is becoming somewhat unstable with temperatures but, that's part of what the Earth does. Every 53 million years, according to a book I'm reading on 2012, our Earth goes through a process where poles shift, axises flip, and more. Who says we're gonna die from it?
