About Me
Hi, my name is Cody Gist, or "Hitman". Whichever you prefer. So far I believe filmmaking to be my niche in life and so I started making films when I took a curious interest in my parent's video camera. It all started with my step brother, Anson, whom has since 2009 not really spoken to me due to conflicts. Yeah, he's a douche pallet. Not a bag, a pallet. Anyway. So Anson and I came up with this idea, since we lived in rural Santa Fe surrounded by little fields, to film a sci-fi movie on a fictional planet that goes by the name of "Canton". We improvised a couple versions of the show, formerly named "War of Canton", then re-named "Crash on Canton". I believe I still contain the videos somewhere and once I get a chance I will put those old videos of badassness up. The easiest way to see "Canton" is to access "My Films" page. That version of "Canton" is the last one my brother and I did before my mom moved me to League City and split with my step dad. A few other projects I made with my brother are random and unintelligent "YouTube Poop" videos. Not literally "YouTube Poop", I just think they're pieces of crap myself. I'll desribe them a bit.
"Misfunkshonal Familee" -- A show about 3 characters who have a specific flaw (weak, mentally challenged, nerdy) and just do whatever. This show was also imrpovised. We said stupid things and somehow maintained an already crappy storyline.
"Meet the Skweaks" -- The longest movie I have ever made, ranging about 18 minutes. It's simply about two things: talking smack and then getting smacked. My brother and I basically beat the shit out of eachother and we have squeaky voices. (The video was sped up using a basic movie editor).
Since my parent's split in 2006, also the year of many deaths in Santa Fe, namely Kyle Adams who will never be forgotten, I had lost the will and motivation to do anything especially with film. Day in and day out, I would go to my new school trying to make friends. A hard 3 years passed and finally, Summer of 2009, it all turned around. I learned many things from dear friend, Scott Lee. He's one of the most smartest and inspirational people I know. He pulled me out of the 3 year slump. Once my senior year started though, I felt the depression coming back. I've been fighting since then. Moments of true happiness occurr A LOT more often than they used to, which I'm thankful for. Keep in mind, I've never been and never will be on anti-depressants.
2010. A few months from graduating this crap shack high school. I've made a few films this school year. New ones. You can find them on "My Films" page. Now that you have some background information on me, I invite you to go check out the rest of the site. Movies, rants, whatever you desire. Send me comments and opinions.
